Pirates Women Plunder Phoenix’s Feathers

The Queensland Pirates Women have romped to a 5-0 win at home against the NSW Phoenix in their last match of the Scape Australian Volleyball Super League home-or-away season, almost guaranteeing them top spot on the ladder before heading to Bendigo for the finals series on 16 & 17 September.

The Pirates collected every possible competition point on offer (2 for each set win and a bonus point for winning by more than 20 overall rally points) to confirm their favouritism for the 2023 title, bouncing back from a shock-loss to the Vipers the night before on the road.

The massive win (18-8, 18-16, 18-4, 18-7, 18-14) rounded out an excellent Super League run for the Pirates, who now enjoy a week off before travelling to Bendigo for the finals series. Rebecca Ingram and Thea Biss both performed well.
