Steel Strengthen Title Credentials

The Perth Steel have tightened their grip on the Scape Australian Volleyball Super League Club Champions title after their Men and Women both won their final home matches for the season at Warwick Stadium, defeating the visiting Melbourne Vipers 4-1 on each occasion.

Those wins have the Steel on 43 combined competition points, 2 points ahead of the Canberra Heat after three rounds of the 2023 Scape Super League season.

The Steel Men comfortably accounted for the Vipers (18-13, 18-15, 18-16, 18-10, 11-18) only dropping the final set, with Steel Middle Jordan Fancote having an outstanding individual match.

The Steel Women also won 4 sets to 1, but did it after losing a thrilling first set 17-18 to the Vipers. Victoria Wells, Shelby Maher, Jackie Tamburri, and Libero Danae Walters were all excellent for the Steel as they won the next four sets 18-12, 18-15, 18-12, and 18-11.
